Your urgent attention is required to a pressing matter in London, Ontario with respect to Police Response. The London Police Service has decided to implement a “verified response program” effective May 29, 2017.
Our Executive Director, David Ritter, along with local CANASA representatives have requested and been granted an open meeting to discuss the changes and the implications of this decision to CANASA Members, Alarm Companies, Monitoring Stations and the Alarm System Owners. This meeting will take place at the London Police Service office at 601 Dundas Street, London Ontario on Wednesday March 29 at 10:00am. THIS MEETING WILL REPLACE OUR REGULARLY SCHEDULED MEMBER BREAKFAST MEETING AT THE BEST WESTERN LAMPLIGHTER INN.
It is imperative that we have as much representation as possible at this meeting from interested parties. This type of program has been and continues to be discussed across Canada by individual police departments. Please plan to attend this meeting yourself and encourage others from your organizations or others to attend as well. We must serve a strong message to Police Services that these types of decisions are important to our membership and the best way to do so is with a prominent presence at any meetings we are invited to.
The Communiqué from London Police Service reads as follows:
This Notice is to inform you that the London Police Service is
changing the procedure in relation to responding to alarms in the City
of London. This change will affect what alarm calls London Police will
be attending and may directly impact your organizations.
Police have met with CANASA, who have requested an open meeting to
discuss the proposed changes with it’s members and other Alarm Companies
that will be impacted.
There will be a meeting to discuss these
changes on Wednesday March 29 at 10:00 am at the London Police Service,
601 Dundas St, London, Ontario.
