Internship and recruitment of graduates from the IESS vocational program
The Installation et entretien de systèmes de sécurité (IESS) 5296 vocational program is offered by four school boards in the Quebec, Montreal, Trois-Rivières and Montérégie regions. CANASA takes part in the promotion of the trade, regularly updating information regarding job offers and internships, taking part in student meetings during the school year, and welcoming students to the Security Canada East Exhibition.
Business Services
Training establishments who provide vocational diplomas in IESS offer support services to businesses that recruit and welcome interns within the company. Do not hesitate to contact the designated individuals for each educational institution for assistance pertaining to either one of the offered services (see the tables below).
Internship Conditions
Individuals registered to the vocational diploma (1485 hours) complete their training in a company setting through an unpaid internship that lasts two to three weeks and in a work field other than the one subject to the Loi sur les relations du travail, la formation professionnelle et la gestion de la main-d’œuvre dans l’industrie de la construction, also known as the R-20 Act. Interns must also have their trade card from the Bureau de la sécurité privée.
